Updating a BOM without Revising (Admin user)

As an Administrator, there is a need to correct BOM’s from time to time Due to humane errors or bad Data that was loaded during go live.
the products revision is not to be revised.
I’m aware of the “un-release” option but it’s not always possible to use it due to:
1. changes that released multiple items.
2. Boms that were loaded to the system on or prior to the Go-live and there no rollback option for them.

I have worked with other PLM systems and all of them had the option to do that  with the right user authorization

Thanks

There is no such role, privilege, feature or capability in Agile  By having such, you are defeating the major reason for using a PLM system, human error or not.
If it is the latest rev, bite the bullet and change the rev (with a minor rev, like B.1) and make the data right.  If it is a previous revision that has had a subsequent revision that corrected things (or not), you will have to make a note that points out the BOM redlines that apply to that previous rev. Yes, this would be an issue for spares provisioning and such, but such a editing capability could be mis-used far too easily.

In the medical device domain every revision change has to be rationalized or go thru a complete design control process, it’s not simple at all.
both Enovia smarteam and Teamcenter have this feature (off course only for the administrator) and if used correctly can save a lot of headaches

Just to expand on Kevin’s point and clarify Agile’s functionality, if you are making use of sites AND using site BOMs (rather than just Common), it is possible to update the BOM (by site) using SCO without impacting revision.

Excellent point, abidani. Could they write an SCO against the global site if they are not using Sites in PC???  (I’ve never used sites much).

That’s the rub, Kevin.  Unfortunately, SCO as a change object is of NO USE for BOM updates unless sites are being used as it cannot make updates to global site.
