Who is the ACS user that creates the destination file?

Hi Agile gurus:

We just set up an agile dev server and I’ve added an event, subscriber and destination for transferring released ECOs to a QAD file location.

I am getting an error for new file destination for ACS. The error in Agile ATO history is:
Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password

Who is the ACS user agile is trying  to connect to file destination and create the file?
Is it the dbuser: agile? Is is superadmin? What user should the destination server/directory allow to create files?

Or where can I specify which agile user is the ACS user to create files?

Thank you,

Laura

You do not specify the user for ACS. Just the set of privileges (roles) that to use. The error you are getting might be an ftp error for the export destination. You can test the destination by going to the Destination in Admin. There is an icon at the top of the destination that looks like…. well… it has an arrow and clock in it.

True that you don’t specify a user to run ACS, however Agile does perform the extraction as a system user. If my old man brain is still working, it’s agileuser that performs the extract. These passwords can be updated in the Java Client at Admin >> User Settings >> Users >> (key icon on dialog toolbar) >> Change Password of “agileuser”.

Thanks Keith and Steve for your input.

I was trying to ask for the internal agile user that would need permission to place the file on the other server as Keith explained.

So the username is ‘agileuser’  – – and is the password for that the one that I put in when I installed Agile PLM?  (I see that option to change agileuser in admin but I’m worried it will mess up something else. Had enough trouble getting this Dev system up and running. 😉

Is there a way to change the internal user’s username (that puts the file on the QAD server) to something else ?

And yes the destination does have roles assigned to it – and I was wondering about that as well.  Does the subscriber require admin role or what privilege does it require in the role? The manual says it uses the role to ‘further fine-tune’ the data extraction. We  don’t need to limit what can be sent, just want to make sure the role has the right privileges. It came filled in from production so it has a bunch of roles; admin, change analyst and item content manager- seems overkill to me.

Thank you! and Happy New Year!!

Disregard. We decided to just drop the file on the plm server locally and move it with a job to qad server. Just easier.

Thanks
