Hi Santhosh,
I don’t know which are the modules that you company actually uses, but I’d start suggesting you to upgrade straight ahead to the 9.3.6 version.
It’ll be a considerable change but if you use PPM module, for example, the users will face many improvements that afford the change, Oracle support’s is something that matters as well, in average Oracle supports versions with no more than 4 years of age.
The first step is to analyse the Capacity Planning document to evaluate hardware and software requirements.
There are several possibilities according to the hardware ans software compatibility.
Upgrade Database from 11 to 12.
Uninstall Agile/File Manager applications;
Run AUT (Agile Upgrade Tool);
Reinstall Agile/File Manager apps.
Assuming that you are considering to move everything from database to files, there will be more things to do.
Uninstall Agile/File Manager applications;
Run AUT (Agile Upgrade Tool);
Create a DB dump file to migrate data to the new Data Base. Note that Agile has specific tools to export and import dumps.
Reinstall Agile/File Manager apps on a new server.
Import DB dump.

Santhosh,
in the link bellow you will find all that you need
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/documentation/agile-085940.html
selectĀ
- Agile PLM 9 Documentation
- Download or navigate in the html mode in the chosen Agile’s version documentation, let’s say 9.3.6
- Look for a document calledĀ Agile Product Lifecycle Management Database Upgrade Guide
- Follow he instructions
- read everything related to Install/Upgrade GuidesĀ before start and definitely you must perform the upgrade inĀ one or two test environments before to go to the production,
Good luck
Carlos
Something else to think about is that AUT runs *much* better if you fix all of the Averify errors. So run Averify on your current database, and use the adt_generic script to fix what you can (this may require multiple runs of both).
Ā If you have errors in your database that the adt_generic script cannot fix (as it does not fix everything), then contact Oracle Support about the specific errors that still exist in your database, and have them help get them fixed. They tend to be fairly responsive if you note that you are going to be upgrading to a newer version of Agile.
Ā Other than that, do as Carlos says, read the documentation and do your planning. There really aren’t any shortcuts in an upgrade, and going to at least 9350 would be advisable. 9360 has only been out for a few weeks, you can either get in Oracle’s good graces by being one of the first to use it (and risk finding all/some the bugs) or play it a bit safer and use 9350.
Thanks Kevin,
Could you please provide the perfect steps what we need to do after db upgradatione to 12c, if i want to upgrade Agile PLM from 9.3.1 to 9.3.5 or 9.3.6, please provide the steps to what changes need to do in database level or please provide me the document any
