How do you reference a field to another class
I am looking at putting a country field in the Item.parts.BOM.”country” Field and I would like that information for that part to show up when I create a new ECO and it the part is listed in the ECO under BOM items. or ECO effective items.Bom
What is the process to associate these two fields together?
Hi,
If this country is part of the Item information, you can define this as Page Two attribute. Page Two attributes can be enabled in BOM Tab.
If the requirement is different, please elaborate.
Thanks,
Sankar.
Hi Jason,
If I understand your requirement correctly, you want to have a new column in the BOM tab of parts which will have countries as its values. Now you want to display this columns value as another column in a ECO’s Affected Item tab when that Part is added to the ECO.
This is not directly achievable as BOM table attributes can’t be displayed in ECO’s Affected Item. However, there’s a workaround as Sankar has suggested.
Item’s Page 2 attributes can be displayed in that item’s BOM table as column value. So you need to add a Page Two attribute for Parts class and make it visible for your required subclass only. This Page Two attribute will hold the countries values. When that attribute will be filled, it will automatically get reflected in the part’s BOM table columns.
Now there is similar provision to show Item’s Page Two attributes as column values in ECO’s Affected Item tab. So once you enable that, the same value will get reflected there too.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you need any further clarification.
