SMART URL and a link to Oracle EBS
Agile has the ability to use a Smart URL. This provides a static URL directly to a document. I would like to know how to link this to an object in Oracle EBS and when the document goes through revision the Oracle EBS object gets the latest version.
In my past we had a document repository and used PDX to look for the object folder name, Document number and we replaced the .pdf in the folder.
Are there other options and if so, could you provide details?
You can add the attachment’s Smart URL to the EBS record as a URL attachment.
To make sure the Smart URL directs you to the latest released version of the attachment – just delete the Rev and change number portion from the generated URL.
Also depending on your Smart Rule settings – you may want to remove the File Folder portion of the URL as well. It just depends whether the new rev uses the same file folder or not.
