It has long been known that Dassault Systèmes would not support their license services on virtualized servers. This is a challenge when a company supports only virtual servers. However, we have learned that Dassault will now support license server virtualization.

Dassault Systèmes is infamous for not supporting virtual servers for its licensing services. We have heard complaints from customers for years. Lack of support for virtual server licensing is a challenge when a customer has an IT policy that supports ONLY virtual servers. Customers then must make exceptions to their own policies to support Dassault licensing. That is all about to change.

Razorleaf recently learned that R2018x Fix Pack (FP) 1806 of Dassault’s 3DEXPERIENCE Platform, will support Dassault license services (DSLS) on Microsoft Hyper-V. The physical servers must have an activated Trusted Platform Module 2.0. The virtual Trusted Platform Module must be activated in those virtual machines.

As a side note, support for hosted DSLS is currently available (with special approval) if a customer is at least on R2017x FP1721.
