Transfer of Authority

I am having a problem with Transfers of Authority. Some work and some don’t. Criteria is correct and the notification is sent out to the assigned user that the transfer was created, but they still cant approve. Does anyone have any idea what could be happening?

The user who got assigned should have approve/reject privilege for those objects.

Thank you for your response. These users do have the same privileges to approve those objects.

Nelly,

You mentioned that some work and others do not.  Can you establish a trend?  The ones that work, are they the same subclass?  Is the same user able to approve some but not others?  Recheck your criteria.  Let us know if you see any trends…  Also, check the dates of the approval authority to make certain the time stamp is BEFORE the attempt was made.

It is likely that transfer authority was done with parameter ‘All changes during the time period”, which means that authority will not be transfer for changes that required the approval before the time period defined by transfer authority record.

Nelly –
I was experiencing the same issue a while back and found that there is a  design flaw when it comes to the “All Changes During the Time Period” criterion.

Even though the system may send notifications to the transfer user when the approval is required – it will only allow the TA user to actually approve/reject if the change was CREATED during the Transfer Authority period.

Unless there is some compelling reason to do otherwise – I would suggest  using “All Changes” instead “All Changes During the Time Period” to avoid this issue.
