Expand the Global Search on user Login
Sorry…. could you please provide information that you are trying to gather. What do you hope to gain from this info or trend or see?
It is a User requirement, as the User wants to see it always expanded so he will not miss some of the searches.
I know we can guide user to expand, but I wanted to know is it possible out of the box?
Oh I see. You may want to notify the user that sometimes these global searches are many! My company has over a hundred folders and counting! So I would not recommend it. But alas, there is no out-of-the-box way to set these folder to expand. You may just direct the user to to click the ‘expand all’ button at the top of the window.

As Patrick implied within his answer, providing the users such a solution might introduce future problems. In my opinion, not all user requirements, especially those which are “save a click” should be implemented. Nevertheless, if you do want to implement such system behavior, I think a java script development is needed. I do not know of system settings which support such a feature.
