DCO Incorporation Function

Hi,

We’re close to upgrading from 9.3.3 to 9.3.5 and I’m trying to figure out how the ‘incorporation’ function in the new DCO change object works. I can readily see that I can mass incorporate files in the Design or File Folder object from the DCO, but once I associate the file folder to an item or document, the files are exposed to the Check-in/check-out process like they aren’t incorporated. If the user goes into the file folder directly, the files are locked down as I would expect, but when its on the attachments tab of an item, they are not locked down.

Any experience with this? Maybe a privilege I’m missing?

In the above Scenario, Filefolder is have checkin-checkout privilege at folder level through DCO. there is a need for big picture. as incorporate privileges and unincorporate privileges are to used for attachment control on other objects like item/parts

Some organization makes object attachment unincorporate only when it has pending changes. In other words, Items/Docs having pending changes other than release can be made unincorporate.  Any item/doc that does not have change order or release change will be in incorporate mode.

Hi Blevitan,

adding a point to the Paritosh’s explanation I’d suggest you to use a Groovy Script to automatically incorporate items when a CO is released. Oracle provides the sample to that code.
But I also attached the zip file containing the sample and the readme file.

My best
Carlos
