Cancel Auto Approve on Behalf of Users by Their Escalation Person

When both user and his designated escalation person should sign in the same step in a process by default the escalation person sign for himself and for the user beneath him.
Is there’s a way in which the default value for the check boxes next to the users beneath him will be blank? So the escalation person should mark users he would like to sign for and he doesn’t sign automatically on their behalf.
9.3.6 handles approver hierarchy better so that a user does not appear as both an approver and acknowledger or observer but I don’t think it will handle this escalation case.
You could change the ‘Allow Escalation Designation Approval’ property to “After Escalation” (instead of “Always”).
That way – as long as the escalation user approves the change BEFORE the escalation period has been reached – the check box would only be selected for their own account.
If the escalation user waits until AFTER the escalation period – you’ll have the same issue, but hopefully that isn’t a regular occurrence.
