Attachment redlines

Hi,

I created a new document subclass.
I have a requirement that Attachments may not be added to this new class except by redlining i.e attachments can only be added via an ECO..
I created the new subclass, a new user just with the create privilege for items and changes . Then created an object for this new subclass and by default noticed that the Add new file button is enabled for this class.
PLease help me in being able to add attachments only via a change through redlining.

Hi BLprat,

following privileges are related to attachments and file folders. Check which privileges your user has.

■ Checkin
■ Checkout
■ Cancel Checkout
■ GetFile
■ PrintFile
■ ViewFile
■ Modify
■ Add to Table
■ Delete from Table

Best regards,
    Dennis

BLprat – I would pay attention to the Modify privileges specifically to see if the “Items.Attachments.FileName” attribute is in the ‘Applied To’ field of any of the modify privilege masks that would allow the user to modify the item outside of a Change Order (i.e. Modify Preliminary Items).

‘Attachments.FileName’ is the field that enables/disables the Add button on the attachments tab.
