Application Error: This Feature Did Not Perform As Expected’

We are getting the message ‘Application Error: This Feature Did Not Perform As Expected’ after clicking on ‘Execute’ on Standard Reports. Why is this error displayed and what is the solution/fix.

That could be something amiss in the database. Step one would be to run an verify report. this is a report tool that should be on your database server. your std admin would run it.

I typically just log-out, log-back in whenever I get that error and it’s fixed.  Not sure the cause – seems pretty random.
Second step is to reset the application server if it’s a repeated problem.

Based on what i have encountered earlier :

1. For reports it happens due to security settings in browser, which blocks the report.  Normally for Tools > Internet Options > Security tab you can change it to lowest possible.
2. If you have done some back-end update for data and try to log-in you get some error.

The Standard fix is :

1. Log-Out,Clear browser cache and log-In back.
2. Check the browser security settings.
3. If 1 doesn’t work then server restart.
4. Also if its a custom report, you can try to form the same using Advanced search and try to run from there.

This happens when there is memory issue. Do you have provision to see heap size at the time of occurrence.

If the issue is due to Memory or Security settings, then why does this happen only to two reports from Product reports..Issue is seen only for Manufacturer BOM report and BOM Comparision report.

Monitor the Heap memory of server where the report is getting executed.

Reports execution uses, Managed server and File server for generation of report
Check for settings, whether reports server load is on dedicated server o.r spread to cluster

Alternatively, Shut down the managed server, take the backup of cache.
Remove the cache and restart.
