Querying Oracle Database Super Slow!!
Hello –
We use Agile PLM at our business. It runs very quick using the browser & accessing data, making changes, etc. I just recently wanted to do some data extracts, and have setup SQL Developer and noticed basic queries are extremely slow. I have also setup through SSMS to reference the database as a linked server (aka query Oracle from SSMS) and it is equally slow.
I don’t understand why this is so slow compared to SSMS (which is very quick). No one uses direct access, e.g. it is exclusive for Agile PLM environment. Can anyone provide some general help or explanation?
I’ve recently starting using Power BI and noticed the slow issue persists through there as well, to the point reports simply timeout/don’t work.
