Is “Item Master” = Product Master?
Is the “Item Master” in Agile PLM v9 considered the closest thing to a Product Master or the system of record for all product information in PLM? If not – apart from Items, what would be the other tables that completely covers all information of a Product?
First we need to define Item Master vs. Product Master. In my experience the item master defines item data critical to defining items as pertaining to R&D and reusability vs product master which is more marketing-centric and is used in conjunction with the enterprise product portfolio.
That being said, Agile PLM is indeed an item master. As I mentioned in your other question Cathi, you can use this for your needs if you must but I would definitely explore what your ERP can do for you.
