How can a 100% Complete PPM Project be changed back to In Process for editing purposes?
Once every project task on a PPM project is marked as complete the project is locked for editing.
If only some tasks are complete, then I can change the status on the tasks back to In Process and make necessary edits. When I try to do this on a task on a 100% complete project I get an “Invalid Status” error no matter which status I try to change it to.
Is there a way to unlock a completed project for editing?
The short answer is that you cannot modify a 100% complete project.
The exception/workaround is through adding a new activity or gate to the project, which requires setting the “Enable Addition of Activities and Gates to Completed Activites” SmartRule to Allow.
Note – this will change the completed project status to “Not Started” which may be undesirable.
