Please advise on this installation approach.

Yes. It is a clustered installation.

Of course it is a clustered installation.

I actually wanted to know how to achieve it and I guess the below might hold for a detailed answer if another soul is looking for an answer to the same question 🙂

Answer: Just execute the installer like the normal Agile install and only choose to install Administration and not Managed. Moving forward all the on-screen entries pertaining to Listen Port, HTTP Port, T3 Port, Web Client Access Information, Java Client Access Information must have the hostname (FQDN) where Admin is intended for install and the port that we intend to use for the WebLogic console. Finish the install and then attempt to start the Admin node on the server with the scripts in bin directory. While Admin node usually takes less than 20 seconds to come up this would take quite longer. It took 15 minutes in my case. There will be errors about jdbc and db connectivity (which can be ignored) but the console would still come up and be accessible with the http://<hostname>:<port>/console

Thanks
