I’m coming to PI PLMx 2019 San-Diego. If you never heard about PI PLMx, check it out here. One of the very few vendor-independent events in PLM, engineering and manufacturing software. This year event is focusing on my favorite topic – value chain.

Back in 2012, I wrote a blog – Cloud will change the supply chain. The question is when? Another article from 2012 – PLM supply chain. Go big data or go home.

What sounded like a complete dream 5-10 years ago, today is coming as a reality. Manufacturing is indeed a big network and to have systems that can help you to bring more orientation in these networks sounds like an interesting opportunity in 2019.

Few articles to illustrate my thoughts and give you additional data points – Collaboration in Manufacturing Networks; What PLM vendors can offer in exchange of ownership of your data? Amazon Bomb and Future of Manufacturing Networks.

Digital transformation is an interesting trend today. Read some of my articles on how Digital Transformation will impact manufacturing processes – Digital Transformations and Networks in Manufacturing; Manufacturing Matchmaking and PLM collaboration.

The theme of PI PLMx San-Diego event 2019 is How PLM delivers in the Digital Value Chain.

Learn how manufacturers ensure a seamless flow of information by taking advantage of PLM capabilities enabling simulation and validation, design engineering, manufacturing optimization, and quality assurance across the entire life cycle and value chain.

Here is my favorite passage:

Next generation digital technologies can create a smarter and more connected supply chain and a more customized product offering. But to properly adopt these new tools, companies need to leverage their strong PLM foundation to ensure optimum monitoring, processing and sharing of all information across the digital value chain. This stream will showcase how companies are incorporating these digital capabilities into their product lifecycle to maintain competitiveness and market share.

I look forward to PI PLMx 2019 in San Diego, I’m coming to share the experience of the past three years at OpenBOM and talk about how will digital transformation apply to manufacture companies and businesses? Check my sessions in PI PLMx program. In addition to that, I’m very excited and curious about the panel discussion – Is cloud-based systems the answer to a disjointed supply chain?

What is my conclusion? Networks are much more powerful than a single company. The power of future manufacturing networks is in collaboration and connecting companies and data to bring more intelligence and business, to streamline processes and organize the digital flow of data and products. Just my thoughts…

Best, Oleg
